Sprints

"Join us if you like running fast and don't like running more than 300m in a session (like me). Sessions are fun, friendly, yet challenging - once you start sprinting you won't be able to stop."

Zute Ogbedeh

Squad Leader

Hayley Ginn

Coach

Hurdles

"Why simply run on a track when you can run with obstacles in the way! Hurdles squad is very welcoming and has excellent coaching for both beginners and more experienced athletes. Being a relatively small squad, there is the bonus of having a very good chance of being selected for Varsity."

Squad Leader

400m

"Nothing embodies type two fun more than the 400m, you hate how much you love it. Come train with us and have a great time with the best squad in CUAC!"

Horizontal Jumps

"I’ve really enjoyed being a member of CUAC. Whilst I expected training sessions to give me a sense of fulfilment as I was taking part in a sport I loved, I didn’t expect to feel a strong sense of community and togetherness with the jumps squad and other teams! Ive developed some really beautiful relationships in the club and feel really privileged to be part of its development!"

Morgan Treasure

Squad Leader

Ben Davies

Coach

High Jump

"I came into athletics having no high jump knowledge. Now I've suddenly become squad leader, which shows that no obstacle is too high to jump over! Super friendly and super chill vibes! x"

Marni Lai

Squad Leader

Steve Vandermark

Coach

Pole Vault

"We all came for the pole vault and stayed for the squad! All of the vaulters really lift each other up (pun intended). If you're scared to give it a try, don't be! Lots of our squad had never vaulted before freshers but ended up vaulting at Varisty!"

Barnaby Corry

Matt Buck

Javelin

"Feel like throwing things? We recommend spears! Both complete beginners and experienced athletes welcome to join the Jav squad!"

Jemima Bland

Heavy Throws

"Nothing embodies the athletic spirit more than flinging heavy objects around a field as far as you can. Whether you're an experienced thrower or just fancy trying something new, we'd be happy to have you!"

Wheelchair Racing

"For too long Varsity sport has been kept only to the ableds. This changes now. Why not give parasport a go? You'll find a group of people who are comfortable around disability and share in the joy of going really fast. Don't worry about being "disabled enough" - if your disability prevents you from participating in sports, please get in touch. We are keen to expand to other events beyond wheelchair racing (anyone fancy the hurdles?!) so please get in touch if you want have a go at the best sport in the world."
